SolaOak at Grand Designs Live Birmingham 2026

SolaOak was at Grand Designs Live at the NEC Birmingham from 2-4 October 2026, showcasing how traditional oak structures can work alongside modern solar technology.
Our exhibition display brought that combination to life, with an oak frame supporting solar panels above a furnished outdoor seating space.
Oak craftsmanship meets solar technology
A solar pergola can give your garden a defined space for relaxing, dining or entertaining while providing a place to generate electricity.
At SolaOak, we design each structure around the property and how you want to use it. The size, proportions and appearance of the oak frame are considered alongside the solar system, bringing both elements together in one design.

Behind the scenes
Before the finished display was ready, the oak frame and solar panels had to come together inside the exhibition hall.
Our setup video shows the panels being fitted to the timber structure, giving you a look at the work behind the completed display.
Solar living spaces from £25,995
Our exhibition promotion introduced solar living spaces from £25,995, alongside a free design consultation.
The SolaOak range includes pergolas, carports, garden rooms and outdoor kitchens made from English heritage oak. Your consultation is an opportunity to discuss the type of space you have in mind and explore a design suited to your property.
The final specification and price will depend on the structure, site and solar system required.
See your design before construction
Every SolaOak project begins with a property survey and detailed 3D design. This allows you to explore the proposed building, review its proportions and refine the details before construction begins.
Designed in Shropshire and crafted at Oak Works Wrekin, our structures combine traditional oak craftsmanship with modern design technology.
