Why SolaOak?
Nestled in the ancient and protected woodlands of Shropshire’s rolling hills, our workshop is surrounded by over 300 majestic, protected oak trees. Every pergola, garden room, or carport we craft is built with the enduring strength and beauty of oak. Coincidentally, our parent company is registered at Oakleigh House in the village of Pattingham. So the fusion of ‘Solar’ and ‘Oak’ felt like a natural fit, thus SolaOak was born, specializing in solar roofing solutions.
Our structures, including carports, garden rooms, and pergolas, blend heritage and innovation. We use English oak, grown over centuries, carefully cut, and dried for decades to ensure stability. Once it reaches our workshop, we plane, carve, and shape the oak using time-honoured techniques rooted in Anglo-Saxon traditions, employing tools and methods that have stood the test of time. This craftsmanship creates structures that are as enduring as they are elegant, complementing our solar roofing solutions.
